Lesson from week 1 and 2

In Week 1, the main focus was on social and emotional learning. In Week 2, we studied Ecological Systems Theory. After carefully learning and understanding both, I had a chance to reflect on my own teaching and classroom practices.

I realized that I have already been using many of these approaches in my classroom, even though I did not always know their formal names. However, when I learned about the conversational framework, I noticed an important point: it is more effective to combine several steps within one lesson.

In my usual teaching, I tend to focus on only one or two parts at a time. For example, I might spend one lesson on lecturing (acquiring knowledge), and then use the next lesson for practice or testing. However, the conversational framework shows that it is better to include multiple stages such as explaining, practicing, discussing, and reflecting within the same class.

This approach helps create more interaction and deeper learning. Moving forward, I plan to apply this method in my classes by combining at least three or four stages in each lesson to improve student engagement and understanding.
