Difficult situations in classroom

  • One line to describe the situation 

    A high-achieving student became academically weak and withdrawn due to financial difficulties.


    What you did:

    He was a clever student, so I quickly noticed the change in his performance and behavior. With the help of his friend, I came to understand that his family could not support his education financially. I then discussed the situation with his parents and encouraged them to allow him to continue his studies. Fortunately, one of my friends offered him a part-time opportunity to tutor junior students, allowing him to earn money and support his education.


    Which ecological systems you were working in:

    I worked within the microsystem and mesosystem to understand and address the problem. I supported the student directly (microsystem) and collaborated with his parents and peers (mesosystem) to find a solution.


    Anything else you could have done (other systems):

    I should not ignore the exosystem. In the future, I could share the students to promote students’ self-awareness and resilience, helping them find solutions and cope with challenges more independently.
