Space for listening to learners

When I was a volunteer teacher , before we started the class we always ask them how do they feel, what did they grateful for. We also asked them to wrote down on a piece of paper.

In the teacher training I have learned the five teaching cycle. It's includes identify and evaluate. Before I go to the lesson I always identify them like what do they already knew about the topic, how do they understand it. After teach them the lesson I evaluate them how do they got it. I see the different before teaching and after teaching. They improved a lot.
