Difficult Situations in Classroom

I will answers these questions with a student's POV, when I was studying at a local school during the coup in Myanmar

  • One line to describe the situation according to the VPLP framework;

I would say it was V= victim. Though our school was not destroyed, we were threatened by the military.

  • What my teachers did;

The teachers, the school board members, and all the stuffs were very scared too. However, they have never shown that side of them to the students. All they did was encouraging the students to focus only in learning. They made sure the students not to worry about any other thing except our study. There was a time when a troop of soldiers were surrounding our school, waiting for the school letting-out time, the teachers called out the urgent meeting and was giving a long speech, while the founder and the principal went to talk with those soldiers. We didn't really know what happened exactly. Come to think of these, teachers really did their best to make sure we stay calm and focus on our study.

  • Which of the ecological systems you were working in;

I am not sure but since the government and the security concern involved, it would be an exosystem.

  • Anything else you could have done in the other systems - name the system and what you might have done or could do in future.

As I have mentioned in the Unit 2.7, I have negotiated with the parents (Mesosystem).

In the future, if I face any of these problems and challenges again, I would do the same thing to think outside of the box and dive more into other systems as well. I believe I would be able to do better this time.
