Difficult situations in classroom

According to the VPLP framework, this classroom situation can be seen as a peacebuilding context where students were supported to feel safe and included.

some students were very quiet and even when they did not understand the lesson, they did not dare to ask the teacher.Based on my experience,I tried to solve this problem by getting closer to them and build a good relationship with them.Although i was their teacher, I also tried to be like a friend so they could feel comfortable talking to me.I spoke to them kindly and asked how they were feeling, and encouraged them to share their ideas without being afraid of making mistakes. I used group activities so they could learn from each others and feel included.By doing this they felt safer, warmer, and more confident to share their thoughs, ask questions and join classroom activities.

I mainly focused on the microsystem because I directly support the students through communication and trust building. For the mesosystem, i could work with other teachers or students' parents to better understand the reasons behind their behavior and how we could support them.
