Supporting my learners

Before I started my class, I always asked them warm-up questions, such as how they feel today or how their day was, so that the other students might feel how each other feels. As for me, I think I have tried social awareness in my classroom, which has developed their ability to understand others with empathy, and to act ethically both at school and in their environment. Since they are displaced students from different backgrounds, they have different perspectives and assumptions on how they interact with others. Additionally, since they came to school to learn instead of a one-on-one class, they cannot stand out alone; therefore, it is very important to know how to underdand about other. Personally, I am not sure that I can use all of the SEL learning; I have to try for them to get a real change.
