I think it can be part of the teacher role to offer counselling in this area. Since many students are from very vulnerable condition, it will be very difficult to feel included to open up their thoughts. By offering some counselling, teacher-student relationship will build strong and create a happy atmosphere. On the other hand, some students might not feel comfortable to share, they might perceive negative perspectives of teachers for stepping into their boundaries or when teachers aware of their conditions, they might feel doubtful every time teachers expose something.
