I do think that offering counselling is part of a teacher's role. Even though teachers are not specially trained counsellors, teachers are one of the closest surroundings in the students' community. Whenever the learners want to share their feelings, they share them with parents, friends, and teachers, too. Yes, there will be some risks involved in offering this support to learners.
