  • How do you help your learners to identify and talk about their emotions?

If I were a teacher, I will ask students write down answer to a question I write on the whiteboard to be able to identify their emotions which a method I learned from one of my teachers. for instead, I ask them, "what are you grateful for today?" and give them 5 mins to write down on their notebook and then ask them if anyone want to share their feeling with the class.

  • How do you find out what your learners’ needs are with respect to their social and emotional well-being?

I believe talking to them friendly (in formal way) is best way to understand what theirs's needs because opened conversation reduces the pressure for the student. If they are afraid to express, then you can start sharing your experience or feeling with them first to encourage them. Another reason is that they are the one who know what they need and want. Even if they don't, you can identify by listening to their feeling.
