I use a Feelings Circle” activity. Students sit in a circle, and each student shares one word about how they feel (happy, tired, worried, excited). If they don’t want to speak, they can just point to a feeling card or use gestures.

I would use this activity at the beginning of the school day or after a break to help students settle down.

This activity helps students express their emotions and feel heard. It builds trust between the teacher and students, and among students themselves. When learners feel safe and supported, they are more ready to participate and learn.

It helps the teacher understand students’ emotions and behavior. If a student feels upset, the teacher can respond early.
