This week I tried out the Feelings Circle activity with my students. At the start of the lesson, I asked them to share one word or choose an emotion card to describe how they were feeling. What worked well was that most students were very open and enjoyed the chance to express themselves. It created a calm and supportive atmosphere right from the beginning of class.
One challenge was that a few students were shy and didn’t want to speak in front of others. To address this, I gave them the option to write their feelings on paper instead, which helped them participate without pressure.
What surprised me was how quickly students began to show empathy for each other. When one student said they were worried, others offered encouragement, and it made the group feel more connected. Overall, the activity was simple but powerful, and I plan to keep using it regularly.
