I think social and emotional learning is very important in teaching, especially in difficult contexts. Students often face challenges in their families and communities, which can affect their learning and behavior in class. Because of this, teachers should not only focus on academic content but also support students emotionally.
However, it can be difficult for teachers to balance both roles, especially in large classes or limited-resource settings. I believe creating a safe and respectful classroom environment is one of the most effective ways to support students. What do others think is the best way to support students while still covering the curriculum?
