share your activity and peer review

One activity that I would use in my classroom to create a safe and supportive learning environment is "setting ground rules". It might seem simple and not fun but I believe small thing can make a big change. The example of setting ground rules is like raise your hand whenever you want to speak or answer the questions. So that there will be no distruction while other is talking and teacher also will notice who has any thing to tell or share in the class. Students will also feel respect and belong in the class. For this rule, it can be anytime and also the whole class because we are not sure that students will have questions or not. Another example is having warmup activity every morning. There will be many different activities for 5 to 10 minutes at the be ginning of the class. Based on my experience, I can see the difference when students have an activity in the morning or without activity in the morning. Students feel active and focused in the lesson when we have warm-up related to the lesson or reviewing the lesson. I believe these activities which is a rule and also activity is a part of creating a safe and supportive learning environment because learning environment is not only about physical but also emotional. That's why It is important to ensure that students feel relaxed and flexsible in the class.
