In my context, to understand my learners’ social and emotional needs is really necessay, I observe their behavior in class. For example, I notice if they are quiet, distracted, or not participating. I also pay attention to how they interact with others. Sometimes, informal conversations or simple check-in activities help me better understand what they are going through.
I have used some activities to support learners’ social and emotional development, such as group work, class discussions, and simple relaxation techniques. For example, I guide students to take deep breaths when they feel stressed, or I include fun physical activities to help them feel more relaxed and engaged in learning.
From this course, I have learned new techniques that I can apply in my teaching. For instance, I would like to use more structured activities like emotion check-ins, visual tools, and reflection exercises. These strategies can help students become more aware of their feelings and develop better ways to manage them.
