Reflection

Throughout this course, I have gained a deeper understanding that creating a safe and supportive learning environment for students is important. I have learned that teaching is not only about lessons, but also about understanding students’ emotional needs, backgrounds, and experiences.

One key idea that I learned is how the environment in and outside the classroom can affect students’ learning and wellbeing. I now understand that as a teacher, I have a responsibility to create a space where students feel respected, valued, and comfortable to express their feeling.

I realized that small changes, like starting lessons with a check-in or giving students more chances to share their thoughts, can make a big difference in thier behavior. These small changes not only support learning but also help manage the classroom more effectively.

Overall, this course has helped me see teaching in a whole different way, where emotional support and academic learning go together.
