Overall, this review is very meaningful for me. I believe that Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is very necessary for the students in my school and community, especially in conflict and crisis regions, because it helps create a safe and supportive learning environment. Moreover, counselling skills are very important for teachers when handling students’ issues, which can sometimes be quite challenging. The five core competencies in counselling help teachers respond more effectively with empathy and active listening. I believe that the methods for creating a safe learning environment are very valuable for all teachers, as they help both students and teachers feel more confident, supported, and ready to learn.
