This free course, Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), explores the experience of ADHD from the perspective of those who are diagnosed with the condition, and those who care for them. It covers the contribution of scientific
research to understanding ADHD, with a focus on assessing the effectiveness and mechanism of action of treatments and therapies.
I did not complete this course because I found it shallow, and narrowly focused. It appeared to be too heavily focused on the experience of those 'dealing with' people (children) with ADHD, rather than really taking time to understand what it's like to actually have it. It appears to be focused almost exclusively on behaviours that are outwardly disruptive, and how difficult 'managing' those behaviours can be. I have very little patience or respect for this approach. I hope this course can be improved.
