PAINTING

Painting Features: Representation of reality with the same objectivity with which a scientist studies a phenomenon of nature, that is, the painter sought to represent the world in a documentary manner; It is not for the artist to artistically “improve” nature, for beauty is in reality as it is; The revelation of the most characteristic and expressive aspects of reality. Painting Themes: Politicization: art becomes a means to denounce a social order that they consider unfair; art manifests a protest in favour of the oppressed. Social painting denouncing the injustices and the huge inequalities between the misery of the workers and the opulence of the bourgeoisie. People from the lower classes - the people, in short - have become a frequent subject of realistic painting. Artists incorporated the roughness, ugliness, vulgarity of the types they painted, elevating these types to the category of heroes. Heroes that have nothing to do with the idealized heroes of romantic painting.
