Core Elements and Adaptable Elements

View

One useful reflection may involve distinguishing between elements that feel essential to preserve and those that could reasonably adapt to different contexts. Certain components, including ethical commitments, governance principles, participation standards, and approaches to data quality, tend to form the core of a project and provide continuity and integrity over time. At the same time, other aspects may need to evolve in response to local conditions or emerging needs. These can include communication approaches, the nature of local partnerships, the technologies used, or the design of community activities.

Recognising this distinction allows projects to maintain a coherent identity while remaining flexible and responsive to the environments in which they operate.

Core elements are contrasted with flexible elements to show how projects sustain integrity by preserving key principles while adapting implementation to different contexts.
