Advanced German: Fragen der Identität
Identity – your own and that of others – is the focus of this free course, Advanced German: Fragen der Identität. You will hear German speakers from different backgrounds talk about their regional and national identities, and you will consider what it is that makes us who we are. You will evaluate and summarise information from a variety of sources and engage with text, audio and video clips through reflective activities and interactive quizzes.
This free course is an adapted extract from the Open University course L333 German studies 3.
Course learning outcomes
After studying this course, you should be able to:
- understand fluent German speakers discussing their regional and national identities
- discuss the concept of identity in German
- reflect on the complex relationship between who we are and where we are from
- make notes and summarise information in German
- use direct and indirect quotes.
