Between 3500 and 3000 b.c. when Egypt was being unified under the pharaonic power, another powerful civilization was borning in Mesopotamia.

If in Egyptian sculpture the conception was cubic in the Sumerian sculpture the base was the cone and the cylinder. The arms and legs are round and the long skirts are slightly curved like they were made in a thorn.
