Partnerships as Strategic Relationships

View

Partnerships play a central role within many citizen science initiatives but not all partnerships are equally valuable. This module invites practitioners to reflect on what makes partnerships feel meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with project goals and participant experience. Strategic partnerships can be most effective when they are aligned with project goals, participant needs, and organisational capacity rather than pursued solely for visibility or funding

At the same time, partnerships may introduce tensions relating to power, governance, ownership, accountability, and organisational culture.

Responsible collaboration therefore requires reflection rather than assuming that partnerships are automatically beneficial.
