Extracurriculars + Their Importance

What are extracurriculars and why are they important? An extracurricular activity or extra academic activity is an activity, performed by students, that falls outside the realm of the normal curriculum of school. Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education. This signals to colleges that you were a well-rounded student who participated within the school community as well as outside of it.
