      • Welcome to Responsible Scaling in Citizen Science: Building Influence, Partnerships, and Institutional Alignment!

This training course is Part B of the CROPS Training Series: Responsible Scaling in Citizen Science, a collection of practical learning resources designed to support citizen science practitioners in strengthening the impact, sustainability, and long-term development of their initiatives. This training explores external engagement, partnerships, communication, and institutional relationships. Together with Training A: Building Strong Foundations for Responsible Scaling, which focuses on the internal foundations needed for responsible scaling, including readiness, adaptability, governance, ethics, organisational capacity, and sustainability, the series provides a comprehensive framework for navigating the opportunities and challenges associated with scaling citizen science in diverse contexts.

  • Course learning outcomes

By the end of Training B, participants will be able to identify and engage key stakeholders, build effective partnerships, communicate the value and impact of citizen science to public authorities and funders, and strengthen institutional alignment to support long-term uptake, influence, and sustainability. Participants will also be better equipped to navigate external opportunities and challenges associated with scaling citizen science initiatives in diverse policy and organisational contexts.
