Hello Open Learning Champions,

On OpenLearn there is now a hub called 'Resources for educators'.

All the content in this hub has been selected by academics across The Open University, specifically for teachers, teaching assistants and support staff working across the secondary, primary and early years sectors, including those involved in home education, special schools and pupil referral units.

For information about using this hub, please see here.

If you have come across any OpenLearn resources you would like to share with other OLCs, please post them in this forum.

New Learning Hub

Hello Open Learning Champions,

You might be interested in the new Open University and SWAP West Learning Hub

The site, a partnership between The Open University in Scotland and the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP), brings together introductory level OpenLearn courses relevant to students studying SWAP courses. SWAP students can find courses that offer new topics to explore, build on their study with SWAP, and help prepare for further study at university.

Are you a super recogniser?

Something a bit different for you to try. Has anyone tried the are you a super recogniser quiz?

This quiz has been developed by Prof. Graham Pike and Dr Hayley Ness from The Open University in collaboration with Dr Josh Davis from the University of Greenwich. The quiz is based on research conducted by Josh that has been used to test the face recognition abilities of some of the officers in the super recogniser unit, and that can be used to identify new super recognisers.

We have used this quiz at external events and always find that people are really engaged with it. Give it a try and see if you have the skills to be a super recogniser.
