Hello!

I found this resource online.

https://www.oercommons.org/oer

These particular resources do not appear to be useful to me, but I can imagine sites that would have the sorts of things I'm looking for.

I have to admit that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment.  I have learned so much already just from the licensing discussion alone, but I can tell how far I have to go before I can really wrap my mind around all of this. I have a strong desire to adopt open resources for my courses.  I have been doing things the same way for quite some time and am eager to redesign my online and face-to-face classes and incorporate the knowledge from and best practices of OER.

Hello Jeffrey, welcome to the course. There's a lot of information here and it will be easy to become overwhelmed. There's no rush. Very fortunately, it's possible to start small with these things. An open image can be a great discussion starter as part of teaching, supplementary resources for learners to explore (but that aren't required). There will be a good community here, and I find a nice part of learning about open is finding discipline friends that teach similar subjects. They will often have ideas to share that are closer to what you really need.

OERCommons is a great resource, but it's enormous. Too many choices can be too many choices, and end up being useless.

I look forward to hearing how it goes for you!

Hello,

I second what Jenni says. Starting small is what I tell my colleagues too who are overwhelmed with all the new information. Often times people are doing open things without knowing it.
