Day 1 - Hello

Hi,

My name is Steeve Doubt, an instructional designer and longtime High School teacher currently based in Kamloops. I have worked with various CC licensing tags and been teaching students about them for years. However, I still find quality content difficult to locate. In some cases I still wonder if 'you get what you pay for'.

I am hoping to undo this sense over the next couple of weeks because I wholeheartedly support the philosophical imperative of OER adoption for all of the reasons stated at the beginning of this course.

I am a positive person, as I hope you will learn, but the resource that speaks to me at the moment is this:

"Ten Years Later: Why Open Educational Resources Have Not Noticeably Affected Higher Education, and Why We Should Care"

I look forward to getting to know you all over the next couple of weeks and learning to harness the potential of OERs for work and pleasure!
