Week-1 Getting To Know OER

My name is Kelli Boniecki and I am an Early Childhood Education Instructor at The Technical College of the Lowcountry. New to OER, our college has just created a committee to pilot several courses for the fall semester using OER in online and on-campus courses.

This is all new to myself and excited to bring this knowledge to the committee and our students!

Hi, Kelli!

Looks like we're building a cohort of ECE/Child Development instructors!  I teach Child Development in California.

I hope we'll do some networking over this couple of weeks!

Hi Kelli, great video on experiences so far. I really like the concept of educators feeling "renewed energy" around teaching because of the empowerment that adopting and adapting OER can bring. Having a voice in a local and contextualized version of resources that students see can be a reminder of why teachers love teaching. I also like the caution that working on OER can be a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. It certainly can be.
