Why do I want to choose Open Educational Resources

I found this video a while ago and agree with it completely:

In fact I had the chance to talk to a few students of mine in the past and the cost of textbooks has become a huge burden for many of them.

I would like to see a change in our teaching practice to shift from traditional textbooks to open education resources so students don't have to worry about the cost any more.

Agreed Xinli, wherever we can shift to resources other than student-purchased static textbooks, we should do our best. There is a growing collection of great resources, and more funding and efforts every day. We can also partner with students to help us help them. They know a lot more than some institutions give them credit for!

We didn't find a change in the grade for our math courses at our college BUT we did have more students finish the course. THAT is everything to us!!!
