ugh...too time consuming!

Hi all

I found this exercise to be so time consuming, only to end up with my document that said "word cannot open this document"....I created a license, embedded it into the picture but couldn't get the attribution and now I'm frustrated!!

maybe I'll try later

I sympathize :)

.... it took me a long time to get where ... now it took me about 3 minutes to snag an image and open up open-source GIMP and drop the icon onto it.

Lots of the activities in the course I've amended though -- rather than create a whole new visual image or diagram... naw, I'll stick with words.   This course is for me :)   And I ***hate*** when tech stuff doesn't work out.   If it's not something I need to use later, I'll decide it doesn't *deserve* my attention because of its unworthy user-unfriendliness :P

I hear you, I am really new at a lot of this open stuff and it can be time consuming but I find practice is helping. I could be wrong, but I remember reading that we need to do 10 of the exercises and if that is the case, then you could not have to do this frustrating one over!

We're definitely asking a lot for an introductory course. Sometimes observing is a good option. Often when I'm confounded by what seems like a small tech task, yet won't go the way I want it to, it's a good moment in student shoes, experimentation, failure, tech confrontations, happen all the time for learners. I'm the first to admit that I frequently have "words" with my computer and software that will not bend to my will.
