MY MDT experience

This is essential regarding recommendations from NICE, wheelchair services is key aspect to address mobility, fatigue and functional issues I think this is an aspect that needed to be explore more among MDT often wheelchair specialist are not included in meetings

I have been opportune to work with different MDT to provide a positive outcome for patient living with MND. A situation where we wanted to maximise patient food intake and nutritional status this involved physiotherapist, Speech and language therapist, dietitian, and Occupational therapist. posture management, swallowing problems, nutritional requirement and fictional cutlery use each was achieved by every member of the MDT but in my experience have not seen a wheelchair specialist attended MDT meeting this is an essential aspect of patient mobility concerns and postural support during transit
