My understanding of MDT

My understanding of MDT working when involved with people who have MND is;

1. effective communication between all professionals involved

2. clear understanding of each others roles

3. working together to ensure the best possible treatment/outcomes for the person with MND

3. a broad range of knowledge and skills between professions to provide the best care

4. regular meetings to receive updates on your patient/client, give advice when required, seek advice, sign post, offer support. 

Effective MDT working will streamline patient care/experience and ensure care is co-ordinated to make the process easier for the person. I feel there is room for improvement in this area within our team and I am hoping this course will allow me to implement a better MDT approach with the professionals I work with and give me a clearer understanding and skill set.
