MND in my setting is quite rare however we are involved in MDT's for all clients that we support. When reading the nice guidelines I can see that our local services require a bit of adjusting (however whose to say they do fully adhere to the guideline but just don't include us). Including the individual in the planning and decision making is important to provide the right care for them. MDT working is extremely important as each staff member involved brings a different speciality to the meeting and are all able to provide the full support and advice when decision making to fully care for the individual. When I have been involved in MDT meetings I am able to feedback all the concerns from the carers, as well as all the positive feedback and whether the individual is making progress. I can also discuss changes in ability and behaviour and whether or not individuals require new equipment to allow them to continue to be as independent as possible. The other memebers of the MDT will then arrange the support/equipment required by the individual
