Library hashtag activity example

Library Hashtag Activity

 A hashtag is a keyword or phrase preceded by the hash symbol (#), written within a post or comment to highlight it and facilitate a search for it. Many social media sites use hashtags to organize information (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram...just to name a few!)

Subject headings are very similar to tags or hashtags that are used on social media. 

Subject headings are words or terms assigned to an article that describe what the article is about. Like hashtags, subject headings are used to group together all related concepts or synonyms under one heading- so if you can find a subject heading it can really save you time while searching.
