I have been a part of CoP's in the last; however, I have yet to use Slack as the application to host the CoP. Has anyone else used this platform in the past for a CoP? Our eLearning team at Durham College uses Slack to communicate with each other for work related tasks, but I could several benefits of using it for other purposes.
Hi Brandon, I use Slack for contact with my small group of eCampusOntario Program Managers (we are 4), and I also subscribe to Creative Commons channels and Virtually Connecting. It's a really great productivity tool for work teams where regular contact is helpful. I don't find it as useful for CoPs in the less regular global sense. There I find Twitter to be better. It's all personal preference I think. An intra-institutional version for an OER working group might have value though. Just some thoughts.
