I remembered that the first time I know OER concept is through an online open class from MIT, now I know that is the MIT OpenCourseWare project which is credited for having sparked a global OER movement after announcing in 2001 that it was going to launch this project and put its entire course catalog online  in 2002. 

Now, 16 years past, still we didn't see a big movement for OER popularity. I didn't find any answer for the barriers what hinder the movement. But after this course, I confirmed my continuous effort to promote OER in the workplaces I was working. Not only involve the students, but also as a leader to bring all my colleagues into it. 

OECD defines OER as: "digitised materials offered freely and openly for educators, students, and self-learners to use and reuse for teaching, learning, and research. OER includes learning content, software tools to develop, use, and distribute content, and implementation resources such as open licences".

From next semester, I will try to adopt some open text for the courses I will teach, also I will create few social media platform for the class to be involved in sharing OER and their own contributions. After the feedback from the class, I may share my own experiences with my colleagues.
