I couldn't help myself. The title of Day 7 - GLAM OER - brought to mind a similar image. I have attended exactly one glam rock concert in my life, and I am so glad I did! I don't have a lesson to share, but I do have a quick reflection.
Glam rock is about sheer flamboyance and breaking the constraints of mainstream music. It's loud, it's crazy, it's physically exhilarating. While I wouldn't want to listen to it 100% of the time or attend glam rock concerts on the daily, I think a couple of really great exposures can be life-affecting in a positive way. Can I apply this to my teaching practice? Which concepts can I introduce or teach in a loud, crazy, exhilarating way? How can I use flamboyance to provide a life-affecting lesson for my students? Metaphorically, I want to go beyond the Museum of Natural History and dig into the Museum of Modern Art, or better yet, find resources that aren't yet dated enough to be considered historical!
