my reflection

Choose one of these communication aspects and share the methods you currently use and suggest improvements you might like on this discussion board.

Currently our main course of communication is email. My role is a new role within the trust and the team, so i have had to think of lots of new ways in order to integrate within the team. The whole team recently had a teams meeting and it was agreed that any patients that are seen by the MND specialist nurses who express and interest in taking part in research - the nurses will simply send me an email. i will then add this patient to an excel spreadsheet and contact the patient.

i have also created a flyer so that the MND nurses can communicate my role to patients who regularly attend clinics.

i have also made connections with the community team. i have attend multiple branch group meeting so i can meet face to face with patients in the community and the MND care coordinators. I have since provided my details to the care coordinators and they also now email me to refer any patients to myself.

suggested improvements would be: a teams channel to communicate with the MND MDT. This platform would allow us all the upload information on, and be able to store it all in one place.

Email definitely makes the most sense in a busy clinically environment , and provides us with a communication trail for future planning.
