Next steps
Working with the principles of Art for Action
Having worked through this guide you will now have engaged with all 8 principles that underpin Art for Action. These are listed in a separate document in Appendix 3, as a way of you sharing these principles with others and also to cross reference how your thinking meets each principle.
Next steps
Depending on how you have planned to adapt the Art for Action principles for your context, the next steps you need to take will vary. However, below is a set of bullet points to help you begin to consider what is required.
1. timing – dates of communications, workshop and exhibition
2. the identification of who will be involved (in the workshop and exhibition)
3. the balance of adults and young people
4. recruitment and gaining consent/assent for involvement and digital badges
5. where the workshop will take place
6. materials needed to gather in advance
7. travel to and from the workshop
8. the number and size of groups, and who will facilitate groups
9. safety considerations/risk assessment (related to travel and in venues)
10. communication to support the running of the workshop
11. refreshments needed
12. how and where the final products will be stored
13. reuse/disposal of any remaining materials
14. arrangements for the exhibition
15. sharing outputs from the making process and exhibition with the wider programme digitally

- Are there any principles which are more important within your context, and how have you reflected that in your planning?
- What are the next steps you need to take (use the list above)?
