      Introduction

      This course is based on a series of workshops which were run successfully in Merida, Mexico with students and teachers from local universities. The workshops also involved local businesses and were considered to have been very helpful by those businesses who were looking for solutions to complex problems. The aim of this course is to enable teachers from other institutions to understand the methods used, develop skills in applying them, and use them in their own contexts.

    Able to use a range of design methods to stimulate engagement with employability and real world problems

    Understanding of problem based learning

    Enable student teams to explore problems and generate solutions

    Able to create an empathetic learning environment
