Summary

A key part of In-the-Picture involves having reflective discussions between the family and practitioners about their thoughts on the different perspectives. The discussions are places for everyone to ask questions and to explore meanings rather than reach conclusions or solutions. Some parents may be less open to engaging in reflective discussions with practitioners. However the tangible elements of the approach, the first person observations and photographs, can be useful starting points for a conversation. As the reflective discussions take place everyone involved, both parents and professionals, can develop a stronger awareness of the child’s perspective and experience.

Now that you have worked your way through Section 5 you should review your learning by completing Quiz 5. After finishing the quiz and checking your answers you will be ready  to move onto Section 6 'When and how to use In-the-Picture'.
