Students and teachers alike both need to know the equations – how (and when) to use them, what units they use, how to rearrange them, and common problems that students have when solving problems using them.

This section looks at all of this. It also shows where these equations come from. Deriving these equations is not required for success at GCSE. However, many students (and teachers) are interested in where these equations come from, and learning about them can help deepen student understanding.
