In this task, each time you will be asked to sketch graphs (or annotate on top of them) whilst we explore what happens as something is heated up (or cooled down). We try to encourage students to annotate their graphs with additional levels of detail – with the aim of increasing their understanding and improving their long-term recall.
Task - heating curves part 1
Start by sketching the graph as ice is heated up. Plot the energy along the x-axis and the temperature on the y-axis. Add in some numbers onto the y-axis.
