Reflective Break
Think about a discussion you had with colleagues, family members, or friends. Did anyone dominate the discussion or not engage at all? What strategies did they use to do that (e.g., talking loudly to dominate or not making eye contact to avoid talking).
Sample Response
I have some family members who talk much more than others. Sometimes, I will intervene by encouraging the dominant ones to talk less so that quieter people’s voices can be heard.
Comprehension Check
