The database library contains country database files written in Excel.  Each file holds the Social Accounting Matrix and all required elasticity parameters for a single country. The SAMs are drawn from the global database developed and maintained by GTAP at Purdue University.  We gratefully acknowledge their assistance and support in developing this library.

 

The UNI-CGE model, like most CGE models, is expressed in a general way. That allows a modeler to swap one database, such as data for Brazil, with a database for another country, such as Pakistan. The same model can therefore be used to analyze any country.

The naming convention for the data files in the library is SAM-XXX.xlsx, where XXX is the 3-letter country code from the ISO 3166 standards.  You can download the full list of country codes HERE (193.0 KB) .
