3. Alternative and complementary therapies
The overall holistic care
Instead of the Alternative treatment
Added complementary treatment
One thing that holistic therapies, alternative therapies and complementary therapies have in common is that they use traditional medicines and treatments.Although these terms are often used interchangeably, they are not the same
basis
Complementary and alternative therapies are much more similar to each other than holistic therapies. This is because holistic therapy refers to a treatment system that encompasses approaches that address entire human, physical, mental, and spiritual problems in ways that are not usually part of conventional medicine
The overall care
Holism is based on the idea that individuals recover fully at all levels, rather than treating the symptoms gradually, as in conventional modern medicine.
Holistic therapy Holistic Therapy
Holistic therapy comes from a holistic philosophy that evolved to heal the whole person rather than just treat the disease.Much of the holism centres on the idea that the three parts of the human body and mind must be treated in unity in order to be fully recovered.
Ignoring one or more parts can throw a person and his or her entire system out of balance and prevent a full recovery.
These practices are ultimately used to encourage health and wellness, while at the same time preventing and treating disease by identifying the causative factors
The most attractive aspect of this treatment is the treatment of the patient. Modern western medicine treats the patient as a uniform sample of the disease, while holistic therapy treats the patient as a person with thoughts, feelings and experiences.Holistic health practitioners are able to develop treatment plans that reflect different clients when they view their clients from an individual perspective.
Alternative therapy
Alternative medicine is a treatment that replaces the use of traditional Western medicine.
The term "alternative medicine" is often used to describe therapies that use methods other than traditional medical nursing therapy;Conventional drugs are not covered by the official definition
Alternative medicine is seen as the direct opposite of traditional medicine. Many alternative therapies come from Eastern practices such as herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, and homeopathy.
The doctors who use this method of treatment are called naturopathic "or" naturopathic "doctors.
Some of the herbs used in alternative therapies are commonly: ginseng, sawpalm, ginkgo biloba, garlic, soy, cranberry and other natural supplements and foods.
Complementary therapy
Complementary therapy is used together with traditional Western medicine, so it is called supplement.
Complementary therapy combines a variety of therapies with conventional medical therapies designed to leverage non-invasive and non-drug options to enhance the client's treatment.
Complementary therapies include:
Massage therapy
Chiropractic therapy
acupuncture
herbology
reiki
Holistic therapy is very common. It USES a variety of therapies to treat the whole person, but instead of ignoring traditional medicine, it USES a variety of therapies outside of its scope.
Alternative medicine is rarely used, it is the only therapy used. It's an alternative to conventional medicine.
Complementary medicine is very commonly used. It involves the use of one or more methods that are used in conjunction with conventional medicine.
In fact, if you noticed, the only difference between these therapies is their relationship to conventional western medicine.
Ok, although we've made a distinction between these terms here, I hope you don't get bogged down in words and names, these are just symbols, what we need to understand is the idea behind them. A person is a living being with a body, energy, and spirit. These therapies attempt to address the whole problem of the person, the body, the mind and the soul, in ways that are not conventional medicine.
