Taking collective action
Joining a trade union, a political party or an advocacy group is a great way to have your voice heard, stand up for your rights, and become more involved in your community.
Working with others and taking collective action on issues that affect many people and communities can have a bigger impact in shaping decisions.

Besides trade unions, political parties and other mainstream membership organisations, grassroots community support groups and migrant associations are especially important for migrants – they represent migrants’ interests and campaign on their behalf on social justice issues, such as workers’ rights.
This section offers guidance on how to join and the key benefits for migrants and others.
