Outcomes

The objective of the exercise is for participants to prioritise outcomes that are aligned to their shared broad values (the questionnaire results they wrote down in the introduction). The priority outcomes will subsequently be used to identify priority actions.

The facilitator should make notes of the conversation, as they will report the results in the next section. In the last few minutes of the section, they should briefly recount the notes to check their comprehension, giving panellists a chance to add omitted detail, importance, or apparent themes.

Plenary:

  • Slide presentation: present and explain the potential outcomes and how they were directly derived from the different visions (see 'Outcomes' section). Note that they link back to the broad values.

 Small group discussion:

  1. Do participants understand outcomes? Anything unclear? (open question)
  2. What outcomes do people like? Are there any outcomes people dislike? Are there any important outcomes missing? (round robin)
  3. How do the outcomes relate to the broad values we talked about originally? (open discussion)
  4. Which outcomes should be prioritised? (open discussion)

  • Slide deck
  • Handout pack
