Ranking broad values - the pre-panel survey
The pre-panel survey requires participants to identify their most important broad values. The list of values provided is derived from a well-established standard list in social psychological research. The results are discussed in the panel and then help guide participants deliberations.
The opportunity to add a missing value is structurally important. It doesn't just allow new values to be recorded for analysis, it means that new values also can be incorporated into the panel discussions. People are more likely to be engaged if they can see - from the outset - that their contributions can influence the steps that come next.
