  Develop your understanding of safeguarding, economic inclusion and gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) and be able to use this knowledge to mainstream and incorporate safeguarding and inclusion within institutions.
  
  This course is designed for trainers (ToTs) in Higher Education(HE) and TVET institutions. In this course, you will be introduced to principles of safeguarding, economic inclusion, gender equality and social inclusion, with a focus on women, youth and persons with disabilities in Kenya.
  
  The Skills for Prosperity: Safeguarding, Economic Inclusion and Gender Equality & Social Inclusion course has been developed as a part of the Skills for Prosperity Kenya (SFPK) programme by Leonard Cheshire in collaboration with Kenya Ministry of Education - State Department for University Education and Research, and The Open University. This programme is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) with the overall aim of improving the quality, relevance, and equity of higher education (HE) and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Kenya.

After completing this course successfully, you should be able to do the following, particularly in a learning or working environment:
- Implement policies and practices that promote economic inclusion;
- Outline barriers and solutions to Economic Inclusion;
- Correctly apply GESI terminologies;
- Observe necessary GESI legislation;
- Participate in mainstreaming of GESI;
- Ensure pedagogy and programming in TVET and/or HE is responsive to gender, disability and youth;
- Plan and carry out GESI Institutional Assessment;
- Develop safeguarding-related policies; and
- Appropriately report and/or respond to safeguarding concerns.
